PCJSL Mourns The Passing Of Ron Fox

Tucson has lost our longstanding coach and friend, Ron Fox. Ron was a coach, a mentor, and a role model for Tucson youth. Ron coached at Freedom Soccer Club, Calcio, Tucson Soccer Academy and FC Tucson. He coached at Sabino High School where he and his team won the 1995 State Championship. He also coached the University of Arizona men’s club soccer team.  He was a physical education teacher in the Tanque Verde School District for many, many years.

Ron Fox was so much more than a soccer coach. He was a former paratrooper in the British service. He was one of the first coaches versed in sports science and performance here in Tucson. He was a patron of the arts. He loved to read and was a lifelong learner. He was always generous with his time and his knowledge.

Most of all, Ron believed in all his players and led them to success both on and off the field. The Tucson soccer community and hundreds of our youth owe Ron a debt of gratitude and will miss him greatly.
