The Fall 2019 soccer season is almost here and we are excited to continue moving forward with changes to improve your soccer experience as we start the 2019-20 season! One big change this Fall will be the use of a few mid-week games, in addition to our regular Saturday play dates, to take the pressure off of fields and referees. The idea was discussed at several PCJSL board meetings and finalized unanimously by all in attendance at this summer’s meetings.

Please see the important dates below, listed in two sections based on the age of the players involved. Please understand that the dates listed below are needed to allow time for schedule creation and we won’t be able to make any exceptions.
For both flighting and scheduling feedback, we will again use a Google Form that must be filled out completely and submitted before we can consider your input. Emails, text messages and voice mails will not be utilized to make adjustments to the flighting or the draft schedule. Please help us do a better job giving you what you want by using these forms to provide us with the information we need. Links to both forms will be provided in future emails regarding flighting and the draft schedule.
IMPORTANT DATES FOR FIRST HALF OF 2019-20 SEASON (FALL 2019)
All U15 – U19 teams
- Aug 11 – Registration closes
- Aug 14 – Google Doc link posted with proposed flighting at pcjsl.com
- Aug 15 – 18 – Accept feedback re:flighting requests/changes using Google Form (link at pcjsl.com) with flighting finalized by Aug 20.
- Aug 20 – 26 – Scheduling coordinator creating schedule for U15-19 teams
- Aug 26 – “First Draft” U15-19 schedule published for identification of errors
- Aug 31 – Errors requiring adjustments must be posted using Google Form and schedule LOCKED on Sep 1 (changes after Sep 1 generate fine to club)
- Sep 8 – First play date for U15-19 teams
All U9 – U14 teams
- Sep 1 – Registration closes for ALL U11-14 teams and any U9-10 teams that want six Fall games
- Sep 4 – Flighting Google Doc posted with proposed flighting
- Sep 5 – Sep 9 – Accept feedback re: flighting requests/changes using Google Form and flighting finalized Sep 9.
- Sep 10 – Sep 20 – Scheduling coordinator creates schedule
- Sep 20 – “First Draft” schedule published for identification of errors
- Sep 24 – Errors requiring schedule adjustments must be posted using Google Form
- Sep 25 – Schedule LOCKED (changes will generate a fine to your club)
- Oct 5 – First play date for U9-U14 teams
- Oct 31 – Registration closes for U9-10 teams that will play only in Play Block 2 (Nov 16, Nov 23, Dec 14, Dec 21)
FALL 2019 Play Dates
It is PCJSL’s desire to schedule six games for teams during the Fall 2019 season, but due to resource issues (fields/referees) and a desire to support our local clubs, regular PCJSL games will not be scheduled on three Tucson tournament weekends (FC Tucson Striker’s Cup – Sep 20-22; FC Sonora Socctoberfest – Oct 25-27; and SASC Soccer Madness (played this year in December) – Dec 6-8). In order to have enough dates to play six games and allow two black-out dates per team, some matches WILL be scheduled during the middle of the week (Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs).
If you choose to play in the PCJSL Fall 2019 event, you will be expected to play on any listed play date (see list of dates below) UNLESS YOU BLACK IT OUT, and you may also be required to play one or two mid-week games depending on the number of black outs actually used by all teams. Saturday play dates are generally preferred, but we will definitely need to use some mid-week games to get everything played.
When selecting your two allowed black out dates, please keep school district fall breaks in mind, and talk to your player’s parents about their plans to be out of town. U15-19 teams should look into SAT and ACT testing schedules and pay attention to the dates for purposes of black out or requesting a change of a scheduled game time far in advance of the test dates. Please also keep in mind the dates high schools start practices and your club teams will stop playing. High school players can play up until Thanksgiving, so pay attention to the November play dates if you want to stop playing earlier. Last minute cancellations will continue to cause your club to be fined.

- Play Block 1 – Oct 5, Oct 12, Oct 19, Nov 2
- Nov 9 – NO GAMES – re-flighting will occur between Nov 2 and Nov 10
- Play block 2 – Nov 16, Nov 23, Dec 14, Dec 21
If three games cannot be played during each play block, please expect to play some mid-week games.
