On August 7th, the Arizona Soccer Association and New Mexico Youth Soccer Association announced the formation of the Arizona New Mexico Development League (ANMDL). You can read the full press release here.
Details on this new league are as follows:
Cost: Registration for this new league will be $900
Travel: Arizona teams will be asked to travel to Albuquerque one time
Who: ANMDL is geared to 11U and 12U Boys and Girls teams that are not competing in any Regional Leagues or National League this year.
When: ANMDL will compete over three weekends in December and January.
–Arizona teams will travel to Albuquerque on December 1 and 2.
–Arizona teams will stay in state and compete against each other on December 15 and 16.
–Arizona teams will host New Mexico on January 5 and 6.
Group structure: One division per age group with 10 teams in the group (6 from Arizona and 4 from New Mexico).
Why: We’d like to offer the opportunity for teams who are not traveling this year a chance to experience playing teams from other states.
