Rillito Soccer Complex needs your support!

Hi everyone,
Please put Friday, April 25, 8:00AM at the Manning House on your calendars. This will be the Parks and Rec presentation to the Bond Committee. I know it is a work day, but it is extremely important to have a strong show of support for the Rillito Soccer/Sports Complex so that the Bond Committee includes the project in the Bond Package.
You may have seen the article in Tuesday's Daily Star about racing and the eventual conversion of Rillito to a soccer complex. Here is the link:
Every year the Star runs something like this and the pro-racing people get up in arms. There were about 46 pro-racing, 1 pro-soccer and 2-3 "let's coexist" online comments following the article. Almost all of the pro-racing comments are also very anti-soccer.
Could you PLEASE write some online comments following this article, or even better, to the Letters To The Editors?
We need to be at least as vocal as the pro-racing folks. Just don't lower yourselves to the level of the anti-soccer people who said that the only reason for more fields is so that soccer moms have more places to show off their bling! Or my personal favorite - soccer is a "commie" sport.
On the theory that the squeaky wheel gets the grease...........
Please write and encourage anyone you think will to write as well. This needs our prompt attention and will require continued efforts. The letters can be simple support for the 18 field Soccer Complex at Rillito or more involved if you are so inclined. Please get your teams parents to write!
If you need more background info please contact me.
